Attention is given to how individuals flourish and reach their highest potential in all areas of human life. Putting scientific method behind the promotion of happiness, cultivation of strengths and flourishing of people, positive psychology points us towards a more satisfying way of life.

The driving force behind workplace positive psychology is the notion that happier employees are more productive, more innovative, and create a more attractive working environment. Many psychology experts recommend extensive staff trainings and retreats before implementing positivity campaigns. Happy people have built up emotional resources over time during previous pleasant moods. People with frequent positive moods have a greater likelihood of working actively toward new goals while experiencing those moods. In short, happy people are more successful in general, and their success is in large part a consequence of their both their chronic happiness and their frequent experience of positive emotions. Can this be applied to teachers and indirectly to students? Most definitely!

This introductory workshop will attempt to introduce the Positive Psychology approach and provide participants with an overview of the “hottest” area of research and development in the field of psychology today. It is an opportunity to focus on what would make life worth living and meaningful and apply it to everything in our lives. The main objective of this training is to help teachers see a more positive reality of the challenging situations they currently face, help them to find balance, reduce stress and quiet the distracting “chatter” in their brains that leads to unnecessary drama and overwhelm. This highly interactive hands-on workshop would enable teachers to see each other’s strengths/weaknesses and discuss ways to enhance/overcome them using the scientifically proven methods for a more meaningful teaching experience.

Note: These workshops can also be customised for students especially or middle and high school to help them cope with daily stressors and rethink their priorities.
