Dr. Inderbir Sandhu

PhD in Psychology (Gifted Education) from the University of Cambridge, UK. Formerly a lecturer at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Vice-President for the National Association for Gifted Children, Malaysia (NAGCM).

An established academician and a published author with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Cambridge, UK, Dr Sandhu has been working with individuals of high abilities since 1996. She has worked with University Putra Malaysia (UPM), University of Cambridge, National University of Singapore (NUS) in California, USA and Singapore; and currently with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). She was also the Vice-President for the National Association for Gifted Children, Malaysia (NAGCM). At present, she is the advisor for the NAGCM and in the Advisory Board of Abacus and Vedic Arithmetic Study (AVAS, India).

 

She has also been a consultant with V-Campus (affiliated with Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth), Cambridge Alliance Centre, Igenius Singapore; Head of Research and Assessments with Ingenio Singapore and consultant for various projects on gifted education/creativity/critical thinking with schools. From 2004 – 2016, Dr Sandhu has been actively giving expert advice on giftedness on a site for the gifted and creative (www.brainy-child.com). In Singapore, she worked as a school psychologist with Raffles Girls Secondary (RGSS) and a consultant for a local TV programme for pre-schoolers (Mediacorp – Okto). At present, she provides consultation services for a number of learning organisations in Singapore and Malaysia. She is in the advisory board with Joyous Learning (GEP Enrichment Centre) and Growing Up Gifted (preschool and enrichment centre) in Singapore.

 

Dr Sandhu has researched, presented and published various papers on giftedness both locally and internationally. Her areas of expertise and interests are gifted education, IQ testing, creative thinking and assessment, critical thinking, positive psychology, motivation and bullying issues in schools and the workplace. She has also conducted research and statistics training to junior college students in Singapore. She has been interviewed and quoted in various magazines, newspapers, radio talk shows and live web chats in Singapore, Malaysia and India. She currently manages her consultancy Mind Path Consulting Services (www.mind-path.com), which provides training, consulting and counselling services for intelligence (IQ), giftedness, creativity, critical thinking, and positive psychology for educators, parents, students, and the corporate world. Some on-going projects include developing a course curriculum on critical thinking for pre-schoolers, teacher training and positive psychology workshops. A multilingual speaker, Dr Sandhu is constantly involved in gifted education in Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and the Middle East.
